This is happening when Japan Creddit Agency has raised credit rating for Indonesia to investment grade (BBB-) many experts say this is the cause why JSX and rupiah can be so strong these days, giving JSX a tremendous growth up to 40% since early 2010.
The positive outlook also came from another reputable credit rating agency and all of this causing a big rush of hot money from foreign investor to our local market. So that hot money buys many, many, many stocks for their investment because of their trust to our market, and they also want a big gain profit from it. Our local investor is the main followers, they just follow where the money go so it create a sustainable growth in the market. Just for the information JSX touch its highest point of history (3.600ish) on Wednesday, 6 October. This condition makes local trader and investor so worried, and makes many local expert speak don’t know where to go. Why? Because it is overbought we are worried it is just an imagination and a short term effect from the hot money.
The problems will occurs when the foreign investor decided to take out their money from the JSX, that hot money will flow away and taking profit but also create loss after a great gain. This is what happen 2 years ago on Bumi Resources a coal producer company, after a tremendous point of their price growth they create a bigger loss because the foreign investor took all of their money considering global economics crisis. As for now considering this month is October, there is a anecdote about October Effect according to Investopedia it is the theory that stocks tend to decline during the month of October and the October effect is considered mainly to be a psychological expectation rather than an actual phenomenon. And at this time I write this blog, JSX is already falling down 1, 50% than yesterday. Sometimes there always a rain after sunshine or maybe sunshine after the rain, you decide.
Consider yourselves as an investor or traders; put your shoes in their point of view. You will get a lot of surprises as thrilling as you going to casino to play some blackjack, or even playing poker on facebook but this one promise you better profits (of course when the market is bullish like these days). When you bought investment product or commodity not only stocks investment and as your choice you can both keep them or trade them. Mutual funds or golden bars can make your money growing like a tree but in a long term process because again the golden bars is already touch its highest point and mutual funds usually just following stocks growing.
As a kid when your mama said to you to pick up the money on the money tree or just make money from a newspaper actually they’re just kidding, but literally all of those things are exist. This golden moment proving it to our Indonesian people, let’s just hope it is not a bubble. it is my wildest dream
